haven rose, two months
It is so crazy that this sweet, chunkalicious girl turned two months old yesterday!!! Honestly, the time hasn't flown quite as fast as you'd think (with some health issues I've been having plus how bad my anxiety can be, some days are loooooooong), but Haven continues to be such a joy and comfort amidst the crazy.

little house on the alley... loft
I can't possibly choose a favorite room in my house. But if there is one in particular that makes a grin spread across my face, its our loft-style bedroom. I love the original gabled ceilings, the big window, the cozy feel. I chose the same airy cream paint from the living room for the walls, but included warmer colors for the decor to compliment the small, but so-very-sweet space.

little house on the alley... master bedroom
Yes... that is Rennie putting on her shoes behind the dresser. Such is taking pictures with a toddler in the house. <3
I love this little bedroom. It is a somewhat small space, so I've kept the decor simple and really love how relaxed I feel spending time here! We have a big, lovely window above our king size bed (yep, our king fit with some room to spare!), peaceful light gray walls, and our closet doors are mirrors so as to add extra light (hopefully pictures of them don't confuse anyone on where pieces of furniture are since, you know, mirrors make things backwards)!

on my instagram
I recently joined the world of Instagram and it has been such a nice, simple way to share snippets of my crazy life without consuming minutes (and hours, ahem) of my time like Facebook sometimes does. These are some of the pictures I've recently shared along with some little updates.

renniebird... eight months
My baby-button is eight months old today.
This has been a month of explosion for her. In mobility. In personality. And in volume (she made sure all of Costco was aware of her presence last Sunday... just happily hollering).
I was told that the older I got the faster time would go. And it is true.
Even though I'm "in the trenches" of motherhood with this girl, her life it still flying so quickly.

renniebird... seven months
Oh, my girl has been so smiley today! It's as if she knows that mommy has been having some rough times and needs cheering. Today Rennie turns seven months old and continues to be her squishy, adorable self.

rennie-bird... two months
Where is the time going?
Today my little Serenity is two months old. She is a chunk of sweetness, weighing over fifteen pounds already. She has discovered her tongue and loves to smack it and stick it out. She has also found her fingers and has figured out how to put them in her mouth.
She coos and giggles like crazy these days and is generally a very happy girl (especially when she's getting her diaper changed!).

octoberness
It has finally begun to cool down in the desert of southern Utah. As someone who grew up in the Midwest, where trees thrive and turn into every color imaginable this time of year, I can struggle with the warm (sometimes hot) days of a western "autumn" and the lack of color since bushes and tumbleweeds lack diversity. ;-)
But October is my favorite month. And I am determined to keep it so.

a baby girl's room
This is Serenity's nursery.
Though she will be sleeping in our room for a while, I have enjoyed putting together a space for our precious girl *so* much. This is the smallest of our three bedrooms, but it beautifully holds all of her clothes, blankets, and toys (most of which were given to us).

| 35 weeks! |
Time is flying, my friends! Maybe it's the fact that I've gone into the "nesting" stage of pregnancy and am constantly busying myself with projects... maybe it's all of the last-minute shopping for our birth and first few weeks with a brand new baby... maybe it's the fact that I am now officially full-term (OH MY HEAD!), but I can scarcely believe we are nearly halfway through August and only a few short weeks from Serenity's due date (if she behaves herself... right now she's measuring two weeks ahead!).

summer moments
It is hard to believe that these pictures are already two weeks old... Today I am 35 weeks into this crazy-amazing pregnancy and I have spent my day in bed with a sore throat and cough (hence the lack of current bump pictures... hopefully tomorrow or Saturday I'll take some!).
