Goodbye, January...

Here I am,
less than two hours till February...
And I can't believe it!

Usually January drags for me,
but not this year.
It has flown!!!

Great Things He Hath Done

"We were like those who
Then our mouth was filled with
and our tongue with songs of
Then they said among the nations,
'The Lord has done
things for them.'"
~Psalm 126:1-2

Feminine Fashion Week, Day Seven: Home from the Library

I love to read just as much as I love writing stories and playing music.  So, trips to the library are usually a special treat for me.  Coming home with five thick books today helped to brighten a rather dreary, cold afternoon.

I also am a lover of flowy skirts.  This outfit originated in Colorado and is one of my favorites to wear.  The skirt is bright and bold without being too... umm... you know, annoying!  :-)  I love the "boho" look, so this skirt and earring combination are a joy to me as far as clothes go...

Feminine Fashion Week, Day Six: On the Window Seat

Today my family got a wonderful surprise: SNOW!  Lots of it so far!

I'm the kind of person who isn't too happy about being cold, but there's something about watching snow fall onto the pine trees outside the window that makes me feel peaceful, yet excited at the same time!

Watching the snow cover the brown, ugly grass is a beautiful picture of how Christ's purity now covers the ugly stains on my heart.  How wondrous to know that when God looks at me, He no longer sees a corrupt woman who is His enemy... but an innocent, beautiful child who has been adopted into His family.

Feminine Fashion Week, Day Five: That Girl at the Piano

Today's outfit was really fun to put together!  It's really comfortable and I've enjoyed wearing it.  It's perfect for the nippy weather here and also for going to church tonight to help as a youth group assistant.

Feminine Fashion Week, Day Four: In Sherwood Forest

I love the story of Robin Hood.  My favorite film-version of the story is "The Adventures of Robin Hood" starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland (to top it off, Basil Rathbone makes a superb villian!).

Ahhh... warms my heart!

Feminine Fasion Week, Day Three: Out for Lunch

Today's outfit was a spur-of-the-moment idea.  Kinda.

I'd thought about wearing it yesterday, but was glad I'd saved it when my little sister came running into my room (where I was sitting behind my computer still in my pajamas) and told me that the whole family was going out.

That's one of the times you're really glad you already have an outfit planned!

Feminine Fashion Week, Day Two: In the Pew

I go to a wonderful, Bible-believing church.  And honestly, every single week I come home with an amazing new nugget of truth.  Isn't it amazing how the Word of God is timeless and even a passage you've read many times can still grip your heart and convict your soul?

That just goes to show it IS God's Word.

As a young woman in the church, still single, and older than the other young ladies (including my two teenaged sisters) who usually attend, I strive to set an example in behavior, purity, and modesty.  Dressing femininely is one way I can do that.

Feminine Fashion Week, Day One: Inside the Warm Van

Oh, what a crazy, exhausting, wonderful year it has been so far!

I decided a while back to try to encourage other young women to dress stylishly, yet modestly, by joining Natasha's Femine Fashion Week.  You can visit her blog here

My outfit was fairly simple since I was living out of a backpack!  I had a wonderful time celebrating the arrival of the new year with friends and family, but am glad to be home!
