I've had a few years in my life that I thought, as they came to a close, I really could have done without. The year my mom had cancer was one. The year I lost my best friend was another. The list goes on...
I've also had a few years where I felt they couldn't have gone more perfectly. The year I was given a surprise birthday party was one. The year I made a new best friend was another. The list goes on...

A Faithful God
"I will open my mouth in a parable;
I will utter dark sayings of old,
Which we have heard and known,
And our fathers have told us.
We will not conceal them from their children,
But tell to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,
And His strength and His wondrous works that He has done.
For He established a testimony in Jacob
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers
The they should teach them to their children,
The 1st Christian generation of my family with the 3rd believing generation. |
That the generation to come might know,
even the children yet to be born,
That they may arise and tell them to their children,
That they should put their confidence in God
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments."
~Psalm 78:2-7

Thanksgiving Day... and More!
This Thanksgiving was simple.
That's the way I like it.
Unlike most years in the past, we celebrated this holiday at home with just us. It was so relaxing... so laid-back actually that we FORGOT the mashed potatoes till about five minutes before eating! Everything else was wonderful though!
Enjoy these holiday pics!

Thankfulness... Looking back at this week
OH MY WORD!
These past couple days have been a whirlwind of happenings, leaving me with hardly any time to check my email, let alone update my blogs! I'm sitting in the kitchen at the little breakfast table/nook listening to my sister name off movies she'd like to watch tonight and half-watching my dad as he drains the turkey frame for our turkey-frame soup that we'll be able to enjoy on Sunday!
So, a recap of the three week-days before Thanksgiving: (warning, this will be a log-ish post, but fun since I have pictures to go with Wednesday!)

Green, yellow, and brown grass.

It's Winds-day!
Hum dum dum ditty dum
Hum dum dum
Hum dum dum
Oh the wind is lashing lustily
And the trees are thrashing thrustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it's rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today
It sounds that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day today.
And the trees are thrashing thrustily
And the leaves are rustling gustily
So it's rather safe to say
That it seems that it may turn out to be
It feels that it will undoubtedly
It looks like a rather blustery day, today
It sounds that it may turn out to be
Feels that it will undoubtedly
Looks like a rather blustery day today.

Happenings...
This week has been glorious so far.
I've spent the last two mornings studying and reading at our local library, which is so peaceful! I'm taking a Bible class through our church (which is a remote learning center) and am enjoying it a lot so far! I had the house to myself most of yesterday (most of my younger siblings have art lessons on Tuesdays!), so I spent some time cleaning the house, browsing our antique store in town, and getting item forms to fill out so I can sell the jewelry I make there at the store! Two of my younger sisters and I have spent some time together excersising... which usually sends us into fits of laughter. Having two teenaged sisters can be so halarious sometimes... we have way too much fun together. :-)

Stop and Smell...
October.
Busy, busy, busy.
Yet not.
Some days feel non-stop.
Others so full of nothing that its overwhelming.

In Love With My Jesus
I have the heat and the cold to make my cheeks glow,
The sunlight to bring a sparkle of delight to my eyes,
The gentle breezes and blowing winds to caress my face,
And my Savior’s arms are always holding me…
tightly…
forever.

Life: A Costume Party
How many of you have been to a costume party? How many of you have worn a mask as part of a disguise? How many of you played (or still play) dress up?
