That's the way I like it.
Unlike most years in the past, we celebrated this holiday at home with just us. It was so relaxing... so laid-back actually that we FORGOT the mashed potatoes till about five minutes before eating! Everything else was wonderful though!
Enjoy these holiday pics!
Yummy turkey stuffing!
The spread. Buffet style!
Thanking God for all He's done for us.
My plate. Ohhh... that was so good...
Bekah enjoying her first Thanksgiving!
I can't believe she'll be a year old next month!
Apple pie!
My family has always put up all of the Christmas decor the day after Thanksgiving. I know that isn't so good for Black Friday shoppers, but I got all my shopping done online!
My family absolutely loves Christmas... as you will soon see!
Nativities: big, medium, small, miniature... our house is full of them!
I'm only going to show pics of three of the sets we own!
This picture only shows about a third of this set! It covers our entire mantle.
It's SO beautiful... so beautiful that I can almost deal with Baby Jesus having a full head of blond hair.
Almost...
Because we don't do Santa Clause, we really love our snowmen!
We don't do a live tree, but we sure love this one.
It looks so much smaller in our new house with the BIG living room!
It was all crunched in a corner last year!
Some of our ornaments have been with us for generations.
Handpainted by Mom!
Love these!
The stockings are hung. Jessie and Natie love their horse stockings!
Our miniature Christmas town!
This is one of my favorite Christmas decorations.
Jessie and me dramatically watching the figurines. :-)
My dad made this when he was a boy.
Yes, he did.
Samantha enjoying the colorful lights and bright red bows in the room Jessie and Natie share.
So, what do you love about Christmas decorations? Do you have special things that your family has kept through the years? Which do you prefer- colored or white Christmas lights?
Hmmm... I like white.
God bless!
Rachel

I've just found your blog, and after your lovely post I couldn't help but comment!
Most of the Christmas ornaments we have in our family are homemade, and the very special-est are the little hand-drawn stars and mangers and sheperds and wise men that my dad cut out of construction paper years ago. They're practically falling apart but I still love them!
However, my great-aunt has ornaments on her tree that were brought back from Japan by her father during WWII. They're absolutely incredible.
