snow flower

These winter months have been lengthy.  I have been buried in snow countless times this season (and very stranded from family) and am loving the sound of birdsong from outside my window.  Word is more snow is coming... but it looks like winter is nearly at it's end.

While I don't love being stuck inside, I do enjoy winter clothing.  I love warm sweaters, lovely scarves, and lace-up boots.  Oh, and being able to wear my hair down without getting quite unattractively sweaty is a bonus as well.  ;-)

 Cream Sweater ~ Meijer
Blue Jeans ~ Meijer
Blue Floral Scarf ~ K-Mart
Brown Boots ~ Shoe Dept.

Today's outfit includes a sweater I found recently (and my lovely Mum bought for me!).  I love the delicate fabric (which, though cozy like a regular sweater, is thinner and keeps me from getting too warm).

*"Frozen" moment: Elsa train!... the cold never bothered me anyway... as long as I'm inside... when I'm outside, you may as well cue Anna: cold, cold, cold, cold!*

The scarf was a gift from my sweet hubby.  He noticed that I liked it a lot (but, being a penny-pincher, I was having trouble convincing myself to buy it), so he surprised me and offered to buy it along with another scarf I had mentioned really liking.  He's such a sweetheart and can really spoil me sometimes!  <3  I should also mention what a good sport he is when he gets home from a long day of work and I throw a camera at him saying, "Please take pictures of me for my outfit post, hon!".  Seriously, Andrew is such a great guy!

And for you all: my cheesy smile.

My sisters and I have a habit of, when we randomly catch each other's eye across a room, giving each other these huge, cheesy grins.  It's quite funny between siblings but is a little embarrassing when it becomes such a habit that you catch yourself right in the moment of doing it to someone you barely know.  *flushing all shades of red and finding a corner in which to hide*

On a final, encouraging note: ladies, I just want you to know today that you are so beautiful.  You aren't beautiful like me or anyone else, you are beautiful like you!  God has taught me so much about beauty through my own experience as a woman and also through the lives of the other women around me.  Please recall today who you are in Christ, who He has made you to be: His original design, a masterpiece of His love and grace.  Half of the battle is believing yourself to be someone of value.  Because of your faith, you can have that every single day.  You can know you are beautiful and priceless, simply because that is how our precious Jesus sees you, and then you can live in that knowledge by not being ashamed of how you look, how your voice sounds, or how your brain works.  Stand up straight and smile, my dears.

"She behaves as if she was beautiful...
it is the secret of her charm."

Remember, the only person you should ever try to be like is our amazing, beautiful Lord.

Blessings, my friends!

I can relate-time for summer! I find myself longing to throw flip flops and a flimsy skirt on frequently these days!
