Oh March... the month of hopeful, open-window days and then crushing, bundled (once again) in blankets days.
Yes, it has been a little difficult planning outfits. Usually I'm just wearing a blouse I love and comfortable (warm!) jeans. That really is me, my friends: mixing femininity and whimsy with comfort and practicality.
I did, however, wear a skirt recently... though it froze my poor legs to do so. Hence the indoor pictures.
This incredible coat was my "find of the season". I was able to pay a really great sale price for it as well. And, to make things perfect, when my Mom saw me wearing it her comment was, "Oh! You look like Audrey Hepburn!". Day made!!!
Gray Trench Coat ~ K-Mart
Striped Sweater ~ Meijer
Black Skirt ~ Thrifted
Floral Scarf ~ Walmart
Black Boots ~ Shoe Dept.
Owl Earrings ~ Walmart
I don't wear stripes very often, but I love this sweater! The fabric is so soft, comfortable, and also not too thick. I mixed patterns a bit by adding one of my favorite scarves to give it a classy, vintage flair (which makes me happy!). The skirt is a very soft, almost-knit material with a cute lace hem.
I. Love. These. Boots.
Yes, I suffer from a mild obsession with lace-up boots. They are with perfect union of old-fashioned beauty and modern sense. I love being able to trek through the snow without always wearing enormous, clunky boots. :-D
Aren't these owl earrings so pretty??? I not only like that they are owls, but the design of the wings and torso are so lovely!!!
Oh, you can' tell in the pictures, but my hair is just curled loosely and pulled back in a loose pony-tail with a princess twist. Easy-peasy!
So, which do you prefer: dressing for cold weather or warm weather?? I think there are good and bad things to both. I would probably rather dress for "cool" weather. In fact, I would be quite content if it was always spring or autumn. :-)
Do you ever subtly mix patterns in your outfits?? I rarely do, but sometimes I see two items and just know they belong together (which is exactly what happened with this sweater and scarf!).
And in case you were wondering if he'd fallen off the planet (an understandable notion caused by the lack of pictures featuring him on my blog recently), here is the man who makes me smile and laugh more than anyone else! We've been pretty busy in our time together; packing, organizing, planning... Fun times!!! Please continue praying for us. We are shouldering many things spanning many different areas (health, relationships, hopes, emotions, work, finances, plus a big move that is getting very close!). Not all of them are things I can share publically, but prayers for wisdom and peace are always so appreciated.
Hope you all have a lovely day! I'm off to make some coffee and then get some packing done in my kitchen!
Blessings!
