Truth be Told...

Oh yes, dear readers, I am still alive!!!  I had a fabulous time in Florida and it is freezing back here in Indiana!

Truth be told, I have realized that I'm not the best blogger in the world.  I've been thinking about doing a post for days now but am only getting around to it as I'm forcing my brain to concentrate this fine day.

I have nothing super-profound to say.  That can wait for my next post.  :-)

I just want to let all of you wonderful people who have continued to follow my blog through so many happenings of my life, comment on my posts, and pray for me that I am so thankful for you.  Truth be told, I am in a lonely season of life right now so (unfortunately) the internet makes up the bulk of my social life.
And, truth be told, I'm the kind of person who knows how much God loves me but doesn't really know how much people like me.  I'm kinda the crazy type... the serious, yet crazy type... which can be awkward at times unless you're my younger sister (then you're even crazier than I am).  If you pursue a friendship with me, I'll want to get together with you at least twice a week (outside of church, of course).  I struggle with initiating relationships and feel like I just might be forcing myself on some helpless gal who wishes there was some way to tell me she doesn't want to be my bosom friend
So, at this time and place, I find myself in my little apartment (which I love, don't get me wrong), alone for ten hours a day five days a week, without a car (and no license to drive it... my fault, I know... I just hate driving), not knowing how to meet new people, and nervous about starting new friendships if/when the opportunity arises.

Just know that your words are so treasured.

I'm not trying to make a post about lonliness or how to make Godly friends or even contentment.  I'm just being honest, so that you know where I'm coming from.

And, since I'm telling the truth here, I would SO appreciate prayer.  I actually have a doctor's appointment today as I've been having trouble with my right arm among some other small things (nothing serious or life-altering, I promise!).

God bless you, my readers.  Hopefully I'll be posting some pictures from my vacation soon and also getting back into doing fashion posts!

Quick question to wrap this up:  Would any of you be interested in me doing a video post or including more videos in my posts?  I've been thinking about trying it and would love your thoughts.  :-)

Have a wonderful day!  Thank you for reading through my randomness!

I hear you Rachel! Truth be told, I'm in a very similar lonely season of life right now too. I'm alone a large portion of the week as well (except Josiah, but he doesn't talk much) and it is hard. Know that it doesn't last forever and the Lord has used it to teach me many things. If you're ever too lonely, look me up on Skype- I wouldn't mind talking for awhile!

I understand. I spend a good deal of my time alone (my Mom is a single working mom and I am a "stay at home daughter"). I don't have any profound comfort to offer, except what you already know - Our Savior will never leave you or forsake you. Our happiness is not dependent upon people, but on obedience. May God bless you as you persevere through this season of life! He will use it for your good and His Glory!

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you! 1 Thess 5:18

I'm sorry you feel lonely right now Rachel, unfortunately Montana is a wee bit too far to have coffee....but I would love to hang out with you! If that's any consultation! I can relate, it does seem like I always have more time for people than they have for me. A lot of people define a close relationship as "church once a week, and the occasional hang out time". For me, that isn't enough. But I can tell you that you just have to be content with whoever and whatever relationships God places in our lives. I've also found that once I'm content where I am, He'll send me a friend! Although that doesn't work if you're trying to manipulate Him...but another comment for another time!
I was going to say that you should try something new, learn to cook really well (if you don't already) pick up a new hobby you enjoy-and radios are the best thing when you're lonely-a great worship music station, worshiping God and all of a sudden you're not so lonely!

I think video posts would be very fun. And if I lived nearby I'd love to hang out with you and get to know you better. :) Unfortunately, I live in central MN. I know what you're feeling - I don't have many friends either.

Aww, Rachel, I know what you're feeling. It's been one of those seasons for me, as well. But really, though it can be deeply painful to be lonely, I've found it to be a blessing, too. When you have very few friends, you can seek God as your closest friend and you learn that He really is all you need. I do still struggle sometimes, but my trust in His is ever-strengthening. :)
Love you,
Alison
