a baby girl's room

This is Serenity's nursery.

Though she will be sleeping in our room for a while, I have enjoyed putting together a space for our precious girl *so* much.  This is the smallest of our three bedrooms, but it beautifully holds all of her clothes, blankets, and toys (most of which were given to us).

My theme for this room is one of my favorites (since, seriously, she isn't going to remember and nursery decor is most definitely more for the mommies): a combination of vintage and fairy-tale.  I had to take these pictures at night, so you'll need to imagine the beautiful sunbeams that usually filter in through the curtains.  It is rather dreamy.

Her dresser is an antique that has been in my family for a while.  My grandparents gave it to me in my early teens.  It fits so sweetly with the style I love.

Our crib was a gift from friends at church (what a tremendous blessing!).  It has since been moved into our master bedroom and replaced with a twin mattress for when my sister comes to live with us next month (she'll be with us for six weeks!).

This bedding is fit for a princess and was also a gift (this time from my beautiful aunt and her family).  I especially love the cream, silky fabric.

I shared in an earlier post how I had been working on some puzzles and painting frames!  Here is one, all finished and hung!  It has to be my favorite puzzle ever created!

I made this "mobile" using paper and feather butterflies, lace, ribbon, wire, and also included some rosettes I made for Andrew's and my wedding!

Two of my *favorite* decorations in Rennie's room are beautiful pieces by two lovely artists: my friend, Breezy (framed) and my sister-in-love, Amanda.  Aren't they both so lovely and perfect for a child's room?

This second dresser will serve to hold my sister's belongings during her stay.  I couldn't help but use it to add even more girly cuteness to the room.

Sweet teddy bears and books... the large cream bear has been mine since I was only six months old!  I can't wait to take pictures with my own baby snuggling him.  <3

This precious book holder was a gift from Andrew's grandparents.  I very quickly filled it!  ;-)

"S F" canvas (as well as the hair-clip holder above the small dresser): gift from (and created by) my mom and sister-in-love!

Dear little bunny... Andrew has kept this (and several other) adorable toys from his childhood in amazing condition.
The beautiful vintage-styled box is the holder for burp clothes!

Hope you all enjoyed this picture-overload (can you tell I'm thrilled to be having a baby?).  I can't come close to expressing how encouraging your prayers and comments have been!  Thank you for sharing in our excitement as we welcome Serenity Faye into our lives!  Only two weeks left till her due date, my friends!  EEEEEEK!

Rachel, you did such a beautiful job with the nursery! That room must be enchanting when the sun wafts through the window panes. Serenity may not remember all the details of her nursery, but I am sure the influences of beauty, peace, color and joy will have a lasting and nurturing influence on your daughter. So excited for you and your family!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey. It has been a joy and inspiration to follow along.
