belles fleurs... maternity outfit

Gray Tank ~ Thrifted
Floral Skirt ~  Thrifted and restyled by me
Sandals ~ Walmart
Necklace ~ made by me
Earrings ~ Meijer

Today marks the beginning of my THIRD trimester of pregnancy (disclaimer, these pics are actually a week old and I am even bigger now).  I can hardly believe how quickly this last trimester disappeared!
I'm still wearing pretty much no maternity clothes.  Skirts are so perfect for this time of year and work very well with an expanding waist!

I found this skirt at a local thrift store.  It is so comfortable and I love the fabric pattern!  The waist originally had a draw string and wasn't terribly well made, so I refitted that part so I can wear it both above and below my bump depending on whether or not I tuck in my blouse.  Very pleased with the result!

My accessories are definitely a bit boho-inspired.  It works well with the outfit though, so I enjoyed the combination!

Health-wise Serenity seems to be doing very well!  She is measuring big (about 1-2 weeks ahead on average for the last 1 1/2 months) and kicking me quite often.  I had some weird results from a recent blood test that requires some follow-up.  My midwife doesn't think that any possible issues will effect Rennie, so that helps me a bit when it comes to emotions and thoughts not being constantly haywire.  For now it's a waiting game while my midwife consults with another doctor who understands the specific stuff a bit better and then I will go in for another blood draw in a couple of weeks to see if anything has changed (waiting while not understanding is SUCH a hard thing!).  Prayers for protection of my health and Rennie's (especially hers!!) would be so appreciated!

Next week begins my adventure back to see my family in Indiana!  I'm so incredibly excited to be seeing them!  It's been a long four months since I last spent time with them all and it will be our last chance before baby comes.  Prayer for travel safety would also be wonderful!  :-)  Thanks in advance!

Well, after a busy morning of shopping and having my 28-week checkup, the couch is calling my name... so is "Bringing Up Baby" (fitting title, I suppose!).  Movie/nap time!  Then maybe some packing later...

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Hey! Excited to read you are going to go for natural labor. I just did that and it is DEFinitely an experience you won't want to miss ;) Hard to put into words. But awesome. Be sure to read Ina May Gaskin's book Guide to Natural Childbirth!! It is the best. ~Elisabeth
