Enchanted Days...

Browsing old pictures...
Pictures from an autumn about ten years ago.
Wondering at how strange,
distant,
it feels.
Like, perhaps, I dreamt those years
and days
of enchantment.

Days of beautiful princesses,
great heroes,
happy endings.
Days when I could live the life
of a dreamer
and truly
believe
those dreams would
come true.

Days of tree-climbing.
Laughing too loudly for
too long for
no reason.
Innocent eyes of wonder.
Knowing who I am,
what I wanted,
and not
worrying.

Dirt-smudged days.
I don't remember summer ever being
too hot
or winter
too cold
in those magical years.
The priceless gift in my hands.
Accepting without a thought,
the blissful
present of time.

Writer.
Princess.
Adventurer.
Poet.
Student.
Leaf-catcher.
Tree-climber.
Puddle-jumper.
Dreamer.

Crazy and incredible.
Those enchanted days.
Thank you, God!
For a childhood of
innocence and wonder,
beauty and adventure,
love and faith.

Give me the trust to keep dreaming.
To keep living in the beauty You provide.
So that, when I am
wrinkled with the
decades,
I may look back on my whole life and see the
crazy and incredible
life I have been
given.

The priceless gift in my hands.

Love this, Rachel. Sometimes I just don't want to grow up...yet, I wouldn't miss the journey with Him for the world!
Blessings on your day,
